How this illustration works

It models a capital-and-interest repayment mortgage with equal monthly payments. The entered rate stays the same for the whole term. It excludes fees, insurance, taxes, moving costs and changes in rates. Actual lender calculations and rounding may differ.

Your questions, answered

Feel informed.
Then decide.

From deposits to adviser fees, here are the answers to some common questions.

How much could I borrow?

There isn’t one figure that works for everyone. Income, financial commitments, your credit profile, the property and lender criteria all matter. Our payment calculator illustrates a loan you enter; Steven can help you explore your actual borrowing position.

How much deposit do I need?

It depends on the mortgage, lender, applicant and property. We’ll look at the deposit or equity available alongside your circumstances. You should also allow for legal fees, any applicable property tax and other moving costs.

Can you help if I’m self-employed?

Yes. We can help you understand how lenders may assess your income, trading history, accounts and tax information. Tell us about your business when you enquire so we can discuss the evidence that may be needed.

When should I review my existing mortgage?

Start the conversation ahead of your current deal ending. We can discuss timings, any early repayment charges and options that may be available, including whether staying with your lender should be considered.

Is the initial conversation free?

The initial conversation is at no cost. There may be a fee for mortgage advice. The precise amount depends on your circumstances and will be explained and agreed before you choose to proceed.

Does this enquiry affect my credit score?

The enquiry on this page does not run a credit check or apply for a mortgage. If you later decide to seek an agreement in principle or submit an application, we’ll explain the relevant lender’s credit-check process first.
